NJAMC attempts to support our mission through offering opportunities for professional discourse and training. One of our primary means for offering these opportunities is through our annual conference. We have been fortunate to have the opportunity to co-sponsor the annual conference with our fellow affiliates, Association for Adult Development and Aging (NJAADA) and Association for Specialists in Group Work (NJASGW). The partnership which has developed with these two divisions has elevated the quality of our conference each year, as new topics, new presenters, and new ideas are exchanged regarding developmental approaches to counseling, multiculturalism, advocacy and social justice, and education at the individual, family, group and community level.
The annual conference also offers the additional benefit of providing continuing education hours to counselors which will meet the new licensing requirements for at least 3.0 CE hours in cultural competency for each bi-annual re-licensing period.
